Surf fishing – where to cast?
Hi – going to be fishing in QNLD australia for starters

now for where to cast:
i have researched that you should stand at a point where you can see majority of the beach and notice where there are dark spots – or white water

im a little unsure and need some help;

1) do you cast into the white water and wait til a fish grabs the bait?
2) do you cast further past the white water and reel in past the white water for a fish to bite?

im guessing with a lure you would use the second approach and with bait the first approach?

I had the best day Yesterday…?
I felt like I made progress with my gelding who I’m breaking myself and I just had to share my joy! Cant wipe the smile of my face today He’s my first horse I’m breaking alone and my way and it feels so good to have him responding positively. For anyone else who has done the same I was wondering when did you put another rider on the horse’s back. I give the kids pony rides on him but I want to see how he responds to another rider.

I had another person exercising Monster a week at the age of three. We worked together for the first while just to make sure that we were on the same page with her training. I also trust the person implicitly mostly because I’m so over protective of my horse. I knew how she rode, I’d watch her ride my horse and I had no problems with it.

Provided an experienced person is also backing her they may find some gaps in training or things that you have to work on. I’m not saying this in a bad way, but a third party perspective can be quite educational for both horse and rider.

That’s a really good question. I’m "revamping" my horse (meaning that she can be ridden, but she definatly isn’t perfect). Honestly, it’s your decision because who knows your horse best? You! But, I would put a different person on my horse’s back when they respond with just the command on the basics (walk on, whoa, back, steers great,etc.) They don’t have to be able to do anything fancy, just the basics. It would also be great to have someone different handle your horse because my horse will stand and let me do whatever to her, but when my friends come or even someone that she’s seen MANY times before but doesn’t trust, she’ll act up and not do a darn thing for them! Having other people be around her and handle her will make her feel more secure around ALL people because if you have a different vet/farrier/etc come around they don’t have the time to gain trust with your horse while they have a big cut and are possibly dying. All in all, get them more secure with commands and strangers and then move onto different riders Have fun breaking your horse and I’m so happy for you!

Hes a little trouble maker and trys to find ways out of work.. but mines getting better. I still havnt put anyone else on him, but in a month or two he should be ready, just gotta get his little mischevious thought out of him.

my old gelding, an appy, was total bomb and kid proof! i gave pony rides alot on him, i could be working with my current horse and have a kid on my appy having fun. he was a baby sitter! he loved kids. lol.
But this is just me, Im a little iffy on putting novice horse people on top of my horses. its just a little scary sometimes! I dont want to be responsible or anything if they get hurt.

More than anything, it depends on the other rider. If it is someone who is at your skill level and rides the way you do, or at least can take direction VERY well, then there’s really no harm. Where young horses get confused is when they’re bouncing between riders who are asking for different things.

For example, I have several younger horses in training and my boss and I switch around who rides who and it doesn’t seem to make much difference to the horses – it’s beneficial because we both notice different things. But when it comes to letting a student ride them, especially one who does not have good control over her body or follow direction well, it can be detrimental to the horse’s training. Use your judgment – and never be afraid to keep anyone off your horse who isn’t capable of doing anything beneficial for him.

How big does a pomeranian/papillon mix grow to be?
I have seen pictures and i am considering getting one i was told my dog had to be small because my family already has many big dogs. I’m NOT asking how big a Papillon or Pomeranian individually are i mean a mix of both. they seemed pretty big in the pictures so i’m thinking it’s a bad idea because i need a smaller dog.I need to know if its the same size as a Papillon or Pomeranian or if its much bigger like it appears. thanks

It will be the same size as those dogs or somewhere in between. However, many mixed breed dogs like this are sold by backyard breeders and come from dogs that do not meet breed standards. I would suggest buying either a pom or a pap from a reputable breeder (with references)… not a mix of both if you want to be SURE of the size. However, a mix of the two dogs, IF they are about the size these dogs should be, won’t be larger than the parent dogs (normally).

There is no way to know what size a mix will be & depends on the sizes of both parents & lineage. It could be smaller than the average pap or pom or twice as large. If you need a specific sized dog, adopt a older puppy or adult dog so you know exactly what you are getting. Many of the smaller sized breeds are much larger than their breed standard due to poor & over breeding which intentionally breeding for a mix ensures it is not from a reputable breeder.

A mutt can have any combination of traits from either parent. You can’t predict what the dog will turn out like.

Why not just get a purebred papillon or a purebred pomeranian?

No reputable breeder would breed mutts, and it’s pretty hard to be that particular when you’re looking to adopt from a shelter.

A pomeranian is usually 3-7 lbs as an adult
A papillion is usually 7-10 lbs

So a mix would probably be around 5-10 lbs, which is small.

I suggest looking at dogs in rescues/shelters, there are lots of small dogs, and you would be able to see in person if they’re the right size.

An adult Pomeranian is around 5.0-11 inches, or 13-28 centimetres. So maybe around that size.

A Pomeranian is a "toy" size. A Papillon is a medium size. (think about cocker spaniel size). A lot depends on the breeding, if the stud and bitch are smaller in size. Also, if you get the runt. The fur of a Pomeranian makes them look bigger than they really are, and Papillons tend to be on the smaller side of spaniels, so I would imagine they would tend to be on the smaller side, but certainly not anything like a Chiahuahua.
Wow, this sounds like a really weird combination. Genetics work with dogs the same they work in people.

there is this lingering thought that mosley is old, he is after all turning 39 this year. he is definitely not in his prime. and it has been a year since that showdown with margarito, who was by the way, suspended on that same night he faced mosley in the ring, which probably affected margarito’s performance that evening.

Speed kills, but the difference in this fight will come in the measure of distance. If it goes the distance, Mayweather wins. Period.

If Shane can assert himself at medium to close range and turn the fight into a trading contest, his chances of prevailing are far greater in my opinion. Mosley tends to feed off of trading shots, and in a barrage, noone in the division can match Shane’s hand speed. Volume punching and pressure by Mosley could conceivably neutralize what has become Mayweather’s ‘pot shot, fade & feint’ (Roy Jones meets Pernell Whitaker) style. To date, the only fighter who Mayweather has faced who posesses remotely similar speed was Zab Judah, and he gave Floyd FITS until tiring midway through the fight.

On the flipside, if Mayweather can keep some distance between himself and Mosley and fight in spurts without getting hit (as he likes to), it could be a very long night for Shane. Mayweather is capable of lightning fast outbursts from range, and his reflexes are second to none. On the downside, Floyd has not traditionally been a volume puncher, and absolutely does not like to get hit (a la Roy Jones Jr.).

We know that Shane has a damn good set of whiskers. Does Floyd?

This fight is happening a little late in my opinion. But you can’t count Mosley out, Oscar DeLaHoya was much slower then Mayweather and he managed to win rounds using the jab, it wasn’t untill he got tired, abandoned the jab that Mayweather was able to flurry and move, get in get out. Mosley even at this age is much faster then Oscar was when he fought Floyd.

If Mosley can use a good jab which he is not known for he can nullify Floyds speed enough to bring it to a level playing field. Also when Mayweather goes against the ropes like he usually does look for Mosley to fire to the body, Mosley is a king of body punching, Mosley also does not tire down the stretch and looks for the knockout till the final bell. Mosley certainly has enough power to hurt Floyd and when he does hurt someone he does not let them off the hook. He carries his power late into the fight so Floyd has to be on his game for 12 full rounds.

If Mosley works that body and force Floyd to slow down and drop those hands he could leave Mayweather set up for a late round knockout.

In this fight Floyd cant go to the ropes like he has done in the past, he needs to be on his bike, flurry and get out. I think Floyds speed advantage will be very noticeable as soon as the fight starts. As long as Floyd fights a disciplined fight, keeps the fight in the center of the ring and doesn’t try to get fancy I see no reason he couldn’t ease his way to a decision. The more boring the fight the better it is for Mayweather.

Naseem Richardson could also be a deciding factor for Shane, Richardson is a master technician and will have plan A, B,C, D, E and F. If Mayweather wants to win him and Roger need to have just as many or more game plans…. problem is I have my doubts as to weather Roger even knows his A,B,Cs…he might get to B.

Well he looked good against Marco Antonio Barrera who is a legend in the sport but he had just come out of retirement and there was a lot of controversy due to a cut caused by an accidental headbutt. Inside of four rounds the fight would have been ruled a no contest but they let the fight continue until the fifth and then awarded the fight to Kahn so it wasn’t a clean win that we can judge how good he is with. The only time he looked really bad was against Breidis Prescott who knocked him out in the first round. Since this fight Freddy Roach has worked with him and improved his defense. Amir Kahn is definitely good but untested going into this fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. This coming fight will be a true test of how good he really is. If he wins I believe he will silence the critics and will have earned his spot as a top contender.

I don’t think he’s that great of a fighter, overated, but he can prove me wrong. His chin also isn’t great and will let him down, so moving up to light welterweight, where there are bigger punchers, may have been a bad decision. It makes it easier to judge how good he is by fighting top fighters.

Does ANYONE have the complete list for the SyFy (formerly Sci-Fi) Channel's Survival Tips?
I’ve been trying to collect them for about 2 years now and I have done many searches for more, but they are never complete lists and a lot of them are not numbered. As far as I am aware, I have the most complete list. I am out to prove myself wrong by asking if anyone has more to add to this list.

I am not asking for people to add their own survival tips, I am asking for the ACTUAL Sci-Fi Channel’s list. There is some question about 2 of the tips that I found as they seem to be the same tip, please help verify that as well. I thank you in advance, here is what I have thus far:

The Local (2008) IMDB rating: 6.10 Plot: The Local follows Noname, an enigmatic man running from a tortured past.
