Genisis 2:7 "The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (or living creature)." Humans and animals have the breath of life (Genesis 1:30). When we die, we cease to breathe. So far, so good.

So what is the spirit of man? Jesus gave his up, willingly, before he died. What happens to the spirit of man after he dies?

What is the soul? "The soul that sins shall die" – so is the soul the same as the breath of life?

Why is humanity distinguished from animal life by being created in the image of God?

Is this all different to the Holy Spirit which is promised to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, those who are ‘born again’?

you sound like you actually really want to know these things…so I’m gonna try and put a bit of heart in this answer for you, but you are gotta first have to be willing to explore and understand these things from a "objective" view not a christian "subjective" view, as I once called myself a christian but now am a servant of god…..there is one god, one truth, one love but these are all called different things by different cultures.
Google and or Wiki the things I put into capitals:
breath of life: CHI (Chinese) or KUNDALINI (Hindu) runs through: breath, blood, water, sperm (is life basically)
spirit of man: SUBTLE BODY or VAJRA BODY (Hindu/Buddhist tantric teachings) chi runs through the subtle body
the soul: mental continuum that Carry’s on after death search for buddhist EMPTINESS
image of god: is either the conceptual thought of god (depending of context). but you mean in genesis, as in we are made in the image of god..means omniscient and omnipotent, study buddhist emptiness and see that ego/self is limiting our union with god!!!

jesus (as well as others) showed the way to heaven/union with god…and we can follow his footsteps to become one with god.

I love the bible and christs teachings, but unfortunately it really doesn’t give much plain black and white answers, only ways to live a righteous life, which is good for some, for me i am a seeker of the truth so my view will not be Limited to one book (or 66 or 72 depending on tradition) so i sought many books…..
one truth that must be know is an ultimate truth that i will put in an analogy for you: I can eat an apple and tell you the most beautiful description known too man, whether it is sweet or sour, the texture is soft, crunchy or rough! but you will never truly know……….until you taste it yourself!!!

Do you know what happened?
In the film Hounddog, it seems buddy really does care about her, or at least, he is written to sound like he does, but why doesn’t he take her to see Elvis, why does he care if she dies? If he didn’t help her, and he rubbed it in her face he was taking Grasshopper. And what the heck happened to him at the end, he runs away and that’s it bye-bye buddy?

I think it’s badly written, good actors, good plot, script = crap.

I need help with an oldie song.?

Pandora has a search function that lets you look for songs by possible song title. Perhaps that would help.

One of two song titles come to mind, "Save the Last Dance for Me" or "Can I Have This Dance." Multiple artists have covered both songs. If the song really is an oldie rather than a contemporary cover, I’d suggest looking at the Drifters for "Save the Last Dance for Me." Or try Anne Murray for "Can I Have This Dance."

It’s hard to say, really, as you haven’t indicated the gender of the artist or whether it’s a group or individual.
