How does one get into the animation field?
I want to be able to create my own cartoons eventually. I love the unique worlds such as Cowboy Bebop, or Aeon Flux… and I want to know how to get a job like that.

I graduated from art college several years ago. AAC in the bayarea. If you don’t know anyone who’s in animation field, you can try to present your idea and art work to the teachers in art school. Most of teachers in my school are not professional educator but professional artist. Such as most teachers who is teaching animation may from the big film company. Some of them fly from LA to give us class everyweek.
I thought you may start from their if you go some good stuff. But if you really got some great stuff, be careful with who you deal with. We had sign the contract that all our works belong to school when we were. I have known there some teachers keep student’s idea become their own…

Meet the Robinsons (2007) IMDB rating: 6.80 Plot: Meet the Robinsons is filled with extraordinarily inappropriate and insensitive messages about adoption that will be disturbing to many children. The basic story is about an adorable baby whose birthmother leaves him on the doorstep of an orphanage. Portrayed as loving, sweet, extremely smart and overly appealing, he spends the next 12 years of his life wanting a family and being turned down by one family after another – in all, 114 couples refuse to adopt him. One disturbing scene shows a prospective dad losing interest in adopting the child because the youngster is more interested in science than sports. When he accidentally splatters them with food from his science project, both prospective parents walk out in a huff , leaving one very sad and disappointed little boy. Since no one else wants him, the child invents a time machine that will take him back in time to find his birth mother. The “bad guy” in his time travel journey turns out to be his best childhood buddy who was once his orphanage roommate. Now an emotional wreck resulting from being left behind when the orphanage was closed and shut down, the once-cute orphan is now mean and devious. The story continues with numerous monsters attacking the child as he continues to search for his birth mother.

20 year old girl, suffering, in need of perspective?
Well my title isn’t exactly a question–but here goes. I’m a 20 year old girl who has been out of college for a year and a half. Two summers ago I went on birth control for health reasons and I reacted horribly to it. I broke out like crazy because of the shift in my hormones and I started to lose my hair. On top of that, I tried to color my hair to make it more attractive and it turned out bad (stylist ugh). I colored it more to correct it and I pretty much looked liked an unhealthy mess. Depression was another side effect of the pill and all of these factors together really got me down. I left school because life got so hard and I couldn’t keep up anymore. I’m trying anti depressants and seeing a therapist…but I just need some perspective. I’ll be back in school in the new school year as a sophomore when I should be a senior. I see only my closest friends once in a while but for the most part I avoid social situations and mostly keep to myself at home in hopes that with time and therapy I will feel better, my hair will restore itself, and my skin will clear out (seeing a derm). I used to be a happy, relaxed, but hard working person and all of that has diminished in this tough time.
If I had to ask a question I guess it would be this…for everyone who has experienced life and growing up–will I be okay? Will my future be okay? When I start to feel restored again will life flow for me?

So I (as a girl) organized the Valentines day. Now i'm ill and boyfriend out watching football…wrong or what?
around 2 weeks ago i mentioned the V day which boyfriend is not keen on, simply coz it costs him money. he said in the convo that its 21st century and why don’t i organize it this time. at first i was really upset as i am very traditional person and he knows it. having a good heart and being situpid as usual, later on i thought ok and i have booked our valentines day and paid for it.
yesterday i got a nasty cold/flu so i e mailed my boyfriend from work saying if he could look after me coz i am really not feeling well. so last night he cooked for us followed by his ”jokes” about me being this and the other..so i just went to bed. today he went to play football for whole day and just texted me that he is watching first half of footie with boys but if i want him to come home and look after me i should say so and he will come.

i mean…all the ladies know how shitty this feels when you have to say to teh guy ”yes please would you be so kind and leave football and come look after me!” AT THE END OF THE DAY I WOULD FEEL BAD ABNYWAY COZ I FORCED HIM TO COME..he should want it himself without me mentioning anything.

i really don’t know…is this some kind of man thing? am i just not understanding the man’s normal behavior?or?

Star Wars books best followed after the Trilogy?
If anyone could answers these it would be greatly appriciated. I need to know which Star Wars books are the best to read following the movies, like right after Return of the Jedi which ones follow the story the best?

These time lines leave out some of the "minor" books but give you a good idea of what’s out there to read.

When you go to these links you will see that there are several books set before the ones I will recommend for you to start with. This is not to say that those books are not worth reading … they are but the Thrawn Trilogy is the best place to start reading the ever expanding story that occurs after the movies. These 3 books are also what breathed new life into the Star Wars story and as a direct result of just how popular these books were, led to Lucas making the SE versions of the OT (episodes IV – VI) that he put back out to theaters in 1997 and to the making of the prequel movies themselves.

The Thrawn Trilogy consists of the books titled "Heir To The Empire", "Dark Force Rising", & "The Last Command". They were written by Hugo Award winning author Timothy Zahn and they are absolutely brilliantly written by Zahn. I seldom listen to what the "critics" have to say when it comes to Star Wars because their opinion almost never is the same as mine but on "critic" hit the nail right on the head when he said that these books capture the "feel" of Star Wars so well that you can almost hear the soundtrack of John Williams playing in the back of your mind while you are reading them.

These books are set 5 years after the events of ep VI. The Rebellion has ousted the Empire from Courscant and have declared a "New Republic". Han & Leia are married and Leia is pregnant with twins. Luke has continued his self training and is searching for any records of the the old Jedi Order so that he can use that as a guide to train myself and any others that he might run across. The Empire has suffered defeat after defeat against New Republic forces and has been driven to the back water regions of the galaxy. But all of a sudden the Empire starts to win some of those battles. The reason for this is that Grand Admiral Thrawn, one of the 12 Grand Admirals appointed by Palpatine, has returned from his duties in the Unknown to take charge of the remnants of the Imperial Fleet
